05/28/2007 23:43 - Unexpected Website Outage
Posted by adminmore from same (CMC Website Update)
CMC Website UpdateIf you have tried to access the website in the last 3 weeks, you realized that our webserver was not responding.  This was due to a serious technical problem on our host server's end.

It is believed that most of the problems are resolved and we should be staying up.

Posted by jacksermore from same (CMC Website Update)
CMC Website UpdateI have transcribed the names on headstones from 94 cemeteries in Laois.

Should any person wish me to check my records for their relatives, I will do so, or check a surname to find places of burial, I will also do so.
I hope this service is of benefit to those abroad.

Thursday 27th July 2006
TIME: 2-5pm

VENUE: Cruachan Aí  Heritage Centre, Tulsk, and adjacent archaeological excavation site

The site is the former residence of the O’Conor Roe lords during the later medieval period from 1385AD, and it was refortified during the Elizabethan period in the 1590s, as part of the larger garrisoning of Tulsk by Sir Richard Bingham, the Queen’s governor in Connacht.

A birthday party to celebrate 400 years since the formation of county Wicklow will be happening at 12.00 noon on Sunday 25th June at Avondale House, Rathdrum. Like all good parties the day will have something for everyone, young and old, including a mixture of walks, talks, games, plays, re-enactments and displays all focussing on the landscape, people, places and events that make Wicklow a county with a difference.

05/13/2006 11:22 - Church of Ireland (Anglican) Records available
Posted by adminmore from same (General News in Genealogy)
General News in GenealogyThe archives of the Church of Ireland, and particularly parochial registers of baptisms, marriages, and burials, are a primary source for genealogists and family historians. Although many registers were destroyed in the past, especially in the fire in the Public Record Office of Ireland in 1922, many others have survived in a number of custodies and are available to researchers.
