Civil Survey for County Wexford
The Civil Survey was a record of land ownership in Ireland in 1640. Its purpose was to facilitate the transfer of forfeited property to adventurers, members of the Cromwellian army, and government. It has land descriptions as well as the names of proprietors and their religion.
What follows is an index of the names on the Civil Survey for Co. Wexford. It is broken down into Baronies and the names are only shown once as they are first encountered. Note that names can appear then in more than one Barony and more than once in each Barony, but are only shown ONCE on this index. The code "p" is for Protestant and "ip" for Irish Papist per the survey. If no code is shown it was missing on the Survey.
