County Tipperary CMC Record Project
in association with
CMC stands for christening, marriage, and cemetery records. It basic idea came from the County Tipperary mailing list. While we have broadened the initial concept to include death and cemetery records as well as implemented the concept differently; nonetheless, the idea and the credit should go to Tony Riordan. Our data format is identical to those he has adopted. We do not store any visitor information and no registration is required.
Simply, we are seeking documented records that genealogists have come across in their research, and wish to share freely that same information with those of like pursuits. It is hoped that the input of records of this type will be an invaluable addition to internet research. Particularly for those whose resources do not allow them to travel to the country of their ancestors. Be it christening, marriage, or cemetery records, there are simply not enough resources currently available on the internet for those of using this as a primary source.
If you are one of those fortunate enough to travel to Tipperary, or live in Tipperary now, your input into this database could provide valuable information to those who have not had the opportunity.
Project History
The first input screen to be available for posting was put up for County Cork on May 9th, 2000. On May 13th, the marriage input pages were completed and the christening records viewing pages were made available. Viewing pages will be updated several times a week. Additionally, cemetery records spawned off another category of record pages for death records. As of May 19th, 2000 all entry and view screens are functional. Beginning in June, databases for the counties of Limerick, Mayo, Tipperary, and Waterford will be added. They function in a identical manner to the County Cork Pages. In August, 2000 we were adopted as a project of the Ireland GenWeb, part of the World GenWeb Organization.

Directions
Simply enter the data and when finished, press the "Submit" button. If you inadvertently submit a record before you correctly entered in all the data, just re-enter, and under comments in the new record, ask us to delete the previous record. After posting into the database, donators will see a confirmation screen displaying the information they have input. Postings will not be available for immediate viewing. This can only be done after an update by the administrator.
Bulk Data
There may be those who have quite a bit of data to submit. It will not be necessary to enter in this data individually. We can automate this process for you if you simply send us an email with the data you wish to submit. Since we can import it directly into the database, you can separate the data fields by commas and keep them across the page for each record (comma delimited format). In those fields where there is not data, just leave a blank space between commas. For this reason, we will put our data field layout for each type record at the bottom of this page.
If the above instructions make no sense to you, don't worry. Email the data, labeling as best you can, and we will take care of the rest.
